Most schools that nurtured and raised several great people in Nigeria, are today in various stages of decay, needing urgent rehabilitation; this has become a great source of concern for alumni associations. Often, it is not really a dearth of rich and influential "Old boys" that keep these alma maters in bad shape, but lack of adequate vehicle and strategy to harness alumni potentials.
Research has shown that most alumni associations only scratch the surface of their fundraising potentials, because they see the duties and responsibilities of alumni associations as “mere charity” and do not adopt modern strategies to manage them well, making networking poor; leading to “old boys" being averse to their activities.
